The proposed Technical University Patna is conceived as an umbrella institution by the government of Bihar which will act as a nodal institution for all higher studies institutions of both technical & non technical nature. Site for this proposed university is located in Meethapur near Rajinder Nagar Railway terminal and close to the bye pass road, occupying about 7.5 acres land area. The campus for Technical University Patna shall be boasting of facilities like a central Library, 1200 capacity Auditorium, Examination Halls, Computer Centers, Research Labs, Conference rooms, Gymnasium, Swimming Pool etc. A fair amount of housing for the Staff has also been proposed. Overall it has about 300,000 sqft of construction to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 120 crores. The buildings are mid rise G+7 and carry Buddhist characters in a contemporary way. There is a great emphasis on Aboriculture in this project therefore requiring open ground space as much as possible.
